The Fraud Prevention Quiz

'Malware' is a term used to describe 'malicious software'

You receive an email claiming to be from a well-known retail outlet that you have had no dealings with.

What should you do?

The answer was C and D

Scammers send emails disguised as well-known retailers, home delivery firms/couriers, large well-known websites, banks, etc.

It is common for them to use well-known names, because people unwittingly click or open the malware links and files contained, believing it to be an email they are expecting, or not suspicious about receiving.

The scammers are looking for you to open a file that contains ‘malware’, or increasingly these days, to click on a link that will take you to a site that will download ‘malware’ to your computer.

Be very careful what you open, download or click on!
