You receive an email from a friend who is away from home.
Her bag has been snatched leaving her with no money and she needs you to help her out.
She asks you not to tell anyone as she doesn’t want anyone to worry.
She promises to repay you once she is back.
The answer was B
This is a well known scam. If you receive an email of this nature, there is probably nothing to worry about.
However, if your friend has lost her phone with her belongings it could be true that she could only remembered some email addresses, so check she is ok rather than just ignore the email.
Don’t avoid telling anyone else, scammers obviously don’t want you to talk to anyone in case you find out the scenario isn’t true at all. If it is a scam, tell your friend that their email address has been compromised and let anyone else know who could have had the same email, to stop them from losing their money.
